The goal of itsserious.org is to enlighten and inform people that the tap water that enters their homes is not as safe as it seems. Sure in most cities the water is clear of any sediment, or things floating around in a glass, but it’s the unseen (microscopic) chemicals and pharmaceuticals that are of concern.
If water treatment plants, and filters in some homes are operating correctly, shouldn’t we be assured that all is safe? Isn’t it a right and a privilege in this country that we should all benefit from the cleanest, purest water anywhere in the world? But, unfortunately we don’t. The Federal government in the guise of the Environmental Protection Agency is the ultimate arbiter on what is safe drinking water. The problem is that the EPA has set strict standards for drinking water, but it is primarily the states, the municipalities, and the local water companies that are responsible for actually testing the water that we all drink. And as you will find throughout this website, there are a lot of substances that literally fall through the cracks.
